We recommend that you vacuum clean your rug regularly to keep it clean and fresh - this will prevent dust from settling and the pile from flattening. If there are spills, speed is of the essence so clean them immediately after the incident. Never rub as this can spread the stain. Blot liquid spills with a dry absorbent cloth or clean plain paper kitchen towels, soaking up the liquid until dry. For any spillage involving solids such as food etc, carefully scrape up the solids and then blot the the damp residue with kitchen towels. Some stains may be cleaned with a very mild clear detergent and lukewarm water or a good carpet shampoo. Avoid harsh chemicals as they may cause damage. Also avoid excessive moisture or wetting when cleaning the stain. Dry the rug on a flat surface and vacuum clean. For stubborn stains, repeat the process. If a stain cannot be removed, please refer to a specialist cleaning service. Do not machine wash or dry clean your rug. Please note that some rugs may not lie completely flat immediately but after a few weeks they will settle and flatten out. With handtufted rugs there may initially be some yarn shedding but this will lessen over time. Don't worry as this is a normal characteristic and rest assured that this will not affect the durability or beauty of your rug in any way. If properly maintained you will be able to enjoy your rug for many years to come.
